Add-On for SMS Backup & Restore is a free utility tool developed by Ritesh Sahu. This app is an extension of the main app SMS Backup & Restore, and it is only compatible with older versions of the main app and not available to users running on Android Lollipop or newer. This app allows users to automatically upload their SMS backups to Google Drive and Dropbox, and also send automated emails after a backup.
It is important to note that this app does not appear in the list of apps in the phone launcher, and it can only be accessed from the "Backup Settings" screen of the main app. The Google Drive feature may not work with all devices as the Google Play Services may not be available. Also, the Dropbox feature only has access to its own folder and does not have access to other Dropbox folders.
The email settings are dependent on the Mail Service Provider used, and the details about the service can be found on the provider’s site. This app requires access to network communication to connect to Email/Dropbox/Google servers, user accounts for Google Drive account setup, and view network connections so that the app does not try to upload when there is no network connectivity. It also requires test access to Protected Storage to read the backup file on the SD card.
